‘Duck Derby’ to raise funds for 2011 Mardi Gras Parade

The Navarre Krewe of Jesters (NKOJ) will host their annual fund-raising event the “Duck Derby” at Juana’s Pagoda, on Labor Day September 6th.

Staged as a family event, activities will include, The Duck Derby Race, mullet toss, children’s activities and a barbeque buffet hosted by Juana’s. This year’s fund-raising event will support the 2011 Navarre Beach Mardi Gras Parade. and scholarship fund.

Get a taste of the Emerald Coast BeerFest

The Emerald Coast Beer Festival, sponsored by the Escambia Bay Homebrewers, is held at 6 p.m. at Seville Quarter, Downtown Pensacola.

Patrons will have a chance to sample beers and ales from dozens of microbreweries and distributors. The first 1,500 participants will receive a souvenir festival beer tasting glass.

The Destin Seafood Festival Golf Classic, returns to Indian Bayou Golf Course on Sept. 10-11.

The Friends of the Pensacola Public Library present their annual fall book sale scheduled for Sept. 24-26 at First United Methodist Church Wright Place, Pensacola.

Proceeds from the used book sales go to support the West Florida Library System.
