Don’t get passed by. Read the rules.

The pass to get across the Bob Sikes Bridge to get to Pensacola Beach without paying $1 each trip will go down in price from $50 to $20 Monday, May 1. However, that beach pass is NOT a SunPass. It is only connected to a Sun Pass. The representatives of Santa Rosa Island Authority and the Bob Sikes Toll Plaza inside the SRIA offices on thebeach all agree it can be very confusing.

Here is how it will work:

1. Purchase a SunPass sticker for a minimum cost of $4.99 to get started (at the SRIA Toll Plaza office or CVS or Walgreens or Publix oronline) 2. Pay $10 to have it activated (instructions come with it) 3. Get a beach pass beginning May 1 for the next entire year foronly another $20.

Still confused? Call 916-5421. Toll Plaza office hours inside the SRIA building on the beach are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m to noon Saturdays.
