Promenade Your Pooch May 6 at Paws on Palafox

What better way to spend a spring morning than on a walk with a thousand other dog lovers and their furry friends?

Walk as an individual or a “pack” at Paws on Palafox. Bring your best canine pal and join the folks at the Pensacola Humane Society Saturday, May 6, at 9 a.m. for a 3K fun walk. People and dogs of all ages are invited to wind through the streets of beautiful downtown Pensacola to help raise funds for the shelter animals and the Barbara Grice Memorial Spay and Neuter Clinic.

Walkers will start near Pensacola Bay in Plaza de Luna Park at the south end of Palafox Street. The course includes the historic district and the vibrant downtown business district. It will conclude at the starting point in Plaza de Luna Park.

The course will include water and treat stations for all participants, human and canine.

The first of two packet pick-up events is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, at Old Hickory Whiskey Bar from 5 - 8 p.m. Plan to stay and have one of the debut Pensacola Humane Society Signature Drinks. The second pick up will be announced at a later date. This event serves as the primary fundraiser of the year for Pensacola Humane Society’s Barbara Grice Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic. The Clinic has performed more than 10,000 surgeries in the year and a half since its opening.

Be a part of this amazing day of bonding with our canine friends and help care for the animals at the Pensacola Humane Society, a spokesman said.
