Memorial Day Ceremony

KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL In an effort to shake its reputation as “The Forgotten War,” the Korean War’s veterans, along with volunteers, mobilized in 2004 to install this tribute to the conflict in Korea. It features a black granite slab inscribed with a map of the Korean Peninsula, flanked by bronze statues of American servicemen: two figures on one side represent a platoon commander and a radio operator engaged in active combat, while a figure on the other side is depicted carrying a child, representing humanitarian efforts.
