BLUE ANGELS’ PRACTICE

Outdoor viewing area located on Museum Flight Line, north of the museum. Directional signs posted for visitors for viewing and parking. Open bleacher seating available for 1,000; limited chair rental for $3. Concessions and merchandise available. Practices last about 45 minutes. Sun and hearing protection recommended. One hundred percent ID check enforced for all visitors 16 years old and older.

GALLERY NIGHT

Downtown Pensacola Sept. 15, 5-9 p.m.

Once-a-month celebration with music, art and cuisine on streets closed to traffic. Café tables on brick sidewalks are perfect for enjoying coffee or cocktails with music and fun in the air. Family-friendly atmosphere in downtown parks with special lighting and outdoor entertainment.

Parking available on side streets. Most restaurants, bars and businesses extend ours beyond “official” closing at 9 p.m.

EMERALD COAST CAR SHOW

Saturday, Sept. 9 - 8 a.m Boggy Bayou Mullet festival site

The Emerald Coast Car Show is celebrating its 25th anniversary year on Sept. 9 at the Boggy Bayou Mullet festival site, also known as the Twin Oaks Soccer Complex in Niceville. There are motorhome hook ups for those who come from out of town and travel with their vehicles.

This year, two long-standing local clubs host the car show, The Northwest Florida Model A&T Club and Playground Corvette Club. Proceeds are given to local charities through each respective club.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. Sept. 9 and trophies for first, second and third place in 41 categories will start at 4 p.m. Preregistration has ended.

Special categories include the Deb Whitley Best Paint, Rodney Griffith Club Participation, Harry Harrell Best Engine, Mayor Bruce Arnold Best of Show, Justin Rothe Best Interior and the Niceville City Managers Choice. There is also a $100 cash award, in addition to the trophy for “Best of Show.”

Hibbs says this show has had as many as 350 registered vehicles and he expects anywhere from 250-plus to attend this year.

There is no charge to spectators and there is ample parking available. Entrance is on State Road 85 North and will be marked.

40th ANNUAL PENSACOLA SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
